About
We are seeking a meticulous and efficient Receiving Clerk for our warehouse located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is fundamental to our inventory control and supply chain management. You will be responsible for the entire receiving process, from the initial unloading of goods to their accurate documentation and preparation for storage. Ensuring that all incoming shipments match purchase orders and are free from damage is critical. A strong emphasis on workplace safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is a core requirement. If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working in a structured logistics environment, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Carefully inspect goods for any damage, defects, or discrepancies.
- Verify the accuracy of received items against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Record receiving information into the inventory management system promptly and accurately.
- Tag or label received items as required for tracking and storage.
- Report any issues, discrepancies, or damages to the appropriate supervisor or department.
- Organize and stage received goods for efficient put-away.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the receiving dock and surrounding areas.
- Follow all established safety procedures and consistently use required PPE.
- Support the broader logistics team by ensuring timely and accurate receipt of goods.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience in a warehouse receiving or inventory role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and data entry.
- Strong observational skills and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding and adherence to warehouse safety regulations and the use of PPE.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a logistics team.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
