About
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of materials within our distribution center. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials by hand or using material handling equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory management systems and a keen eye for detail. We emphasize safety in all our operations, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and containers.
- Moving materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Verifying the quantity and condition of incoming and outgoing materials.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and reporting discrepancies.
- Keeping the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Assisting with cycle counts and physical inventory as needed.
- Following all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and PPE.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material movement and storage.
- Supporting overall warehouse logistics and operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including significant Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment operation.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
