About
Our logistics center in Richmond, Virginia, is looking for a skilled Material Handler to support our warehouse operations. As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in the movement and organization of materials throughout the facility. Your responsibilities will include operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, loading and unloading trucks, stocking inventory, and assisting with order fulfillment. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the safe and efficient handling of all materials. Adherence to stringent safety guidelines and the proper use of PPE are mandatory to maintain a secure working environment. We are committed to a zero-accident workplace. The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting items up to 60 lbs regularly, is essential. Experience with various types of warehouse equipment and a valid forklift certification are highly valued. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stock and organize inventory within the warehouse.
- Assist with order picking and staging.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety regulations and use appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong asset.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 60 lbs).
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and the correct use of PPE.
