Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, which is vital for efficient warehouse operations and overall supply chain management. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing improvements to inventory control procedures. You will collaborate closely with warehouse staff, management, and other departments to resolve inventory-related issues and maintain optimal stock levels. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices is essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position requires adherence to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, and a commitment to safe lifting practices. Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, shortages, and overages.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and execution of inventory improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory items.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and production teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Participate in ongoing training related to logistics and inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related logistics role.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of PPE.
  • Must be able to perform tasks involving occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
