About
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is crucial to ensuring the accurate and efficient intake of all incoming goods into our warehouse. You will be responsible for verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting items for damage, and properly documenting all received inventory. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against shipping documents.
- Inspect products for damage or defects.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system.
- Tag and label inventory appropriately.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
