We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics hub in Chicago, Illinois. This role is essential for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials, ensuring accuracy and minimizing damage. A strong focus on Safety, adherence to operating procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are critical. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and expect all team members to prioritize safety and use the required PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Stack and organize materials in appropriate locations.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification.
- Follow all Safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all handling procedures to prevent product damage.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Proficiency in operating multiple types of forklifts.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of Safety procedures and protocols.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety vests and steel-toed boots.
- Experience with scanning equipment is a plus.
