We are seeking an experienced and certified Forklift Operator to join our bustling distribution center in New York City, New York. This role is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and manage inventory stacks. Ensuring the Safety of yourself and your colleagues is paramount, as is maintaining the integrity of the products being handled. Our operations are a key part of extensive Logistics networks, and your skill with machinery will directly contribute to our success. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse racking.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Stack and retrieve products from high shelves and storage areas.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all traffic rules and Safety procedures within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and record-keeping.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification and proven experience.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of proper material handling techniques and Logistics flow.
- Ability to perform Lifting of items up to 50 pounds when not operating machinery.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of workplace Safety .
- Must wear required PPE , including a hard hat and steel-toed boots.
- High school diploma or GED.
