We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our bustling logistics team in New York City, New York. This critical role ensures the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, move, and stack inventory and finished goods. Your attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient operation of equipment are vital to our daily operations. We maintain a high standard of safety and expect all team members to uphold it. Key duties include:
- Safely operating forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, to move materials within the warehouse.
- Loading and unloading goods from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Moving inventory from receiving areas to storage locations and from storage to staging for shipment.
- Stacking and retrieving materials at various heights, ensuring stability and safety.
- Performing daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and reporting any maintenance issues immediately.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintaining accurate records of inventory movement as required.
- Assisting with general warehouse duties when not operating a forklift.
- Ensuring the warehouse floor remains clear and safe for all personnel.
- Contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics operations.
