About
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, and ensuring materials are organized and stored correctly. This position requires a strong commitment to safety protocols and a keen eye for detail to maintain inventory accuracy. You will work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily operational goals and contribute to the smooth flow of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Participate in regular safety training and toolbox talks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role. Experience operating forklifts and valid certification is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. A commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE is essential. Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is beneficial. This is a physically demanding role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
