We are hiring a certified Forklift Operator for our busy warehouse in Indianapolis! This is a critical role that ensures the smooth and efficient movement of goods throughout our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and move inventory within the warehouse. You must have a thorough understanding of forklift operation, warehouse safety protocols, and material handling techniques. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and has a strong work ethic. This position is key to our logistics operations, ensuring products reach their destination efficiently and without damage. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any issues or necessary maintenance.
- Verify product identification and quantities before moving items.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently and safely.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, keeping aisles and work areas clear.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve operational goals in our logistics network.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with inventory control and logistics systems is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE.
