About
We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our bustling facility in Washington, D.C. As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in the efficient movement and organization of goods throughout the warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving and dispatching materials, operating manual and powered equipment, and ensuring inventory is stored correctly. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will work collaboratively with other team members to support our logistics operations and ensure that all materials are handled with care and precision. This role is fundamental to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and the smooth running of our operations. We encourage candidates who are proactive and eager to learn new skills.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and products.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling devices.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the facility.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Ensure all materials are handled according to safety guidelines and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to supervision.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Contribute to overall logistics efficiency and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 70 pounds, on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various material handling equipment safely.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Understanding of safety regulations and protocols in a warehouse setting.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
