Hazelwood Healthcare provides addiction medicine and recovery services to individuals in Macon County and surrounding areas. Our goal is to make recovery-oriented and medically sound care easier to access for many people in Western North Carolina. There is rewarding work to be done with people who come in search of healing and recovery. Our Opioid Treatment Program in Franklin is accredited by the Joint Commission.
Job Title: Dispensing Nurse - Opioid Treatment Program
Responsibilities include:
Medication administration is the primary duty: Dispense methadone, and sometimes other medications like Suboxone, according to patient needs and physician orders. Patient monitoring, including observing patients for side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and overall physical and mental health. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all medication dispensed, inventory, patient progress, and any medical issues or incidents. Monitor and manage medication inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking stock, and reconciling logs at the end of dosing periods.
Assist medical staff with care appointments - performing initial contact with individuals seeing medical providers, measuring vital signs, performing medication reconciliation, appointment scheduling, facilitation and support of telehealth appointments, collection and preparation of blood and urine samples for testing, and performing EKG testing.
*Qualifications:*
* *Education:* High school diploma or equivalent. Current LPN
* *Experience:* Previous experience in an outpatient healthcare setting, preferably in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or primary care. Experience in an Opioid Treatment Program is not required but would be beneficial.
* *Skills:*
* Must be proficient in clinical tasks, including phlebotomy, measuring vital signs, medication reconciliation, running EKGs
* Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and competent in the use of computers and an electronic medical record.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with people in care and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of opioid use disorder, addiction treatment modalities, and harm reduction principles.

* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
The hours for this position are 6am - 2pm weekdays.
We offer a monthly stipend to help with health insurance premium costs for employees who maintain health insurance through coverage through a family member's plan, the ACA marketplace, or other private plans.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
