Position Summary:
Designs and maintains the organization's data architecture to support analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence needs. This role ensures data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business goals. Contributing to setting standards for data modelling and governance across the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain enterprise data architecture to support analytics and reporting needs. This includes creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models that reflect business requirements and ensure scalability.
- Develop and optimize data models and storage solutions in collaboration with infrastructure teams to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather and document data requirements, ensuring architecture supports operational and strategic goals.
- Support data governance and compliance efforts by contributing to frameworks for data security, classification, and privacy.
- Support continuous improvement through innovation and planning activities by reviewing emerging technologies and recommending improvements to data systems.
- Provide guidance to users including Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts, and AI Data Scientists to ensure consistent use of data standards.
- Other related or project duties may also be required.
Job Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related quantitative field.
- Possess or working towards Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience designing and maintaining data architecture, with 10 years of working in enterprise data architecture, data modelling, or data engineering.
- Strong ability to design scalable data systems that meet business and technical requirements.
- Skilled in documenting data pipelines, catalogues, and lineage for analytics and reporting.
- Experience with data governance policies and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions that impact enterprise data strategy.
- Working experience with tools such as Python, Microsoft Azure, Fivetran, DBT, Knime, and Dataiku.
