Description: 
ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Site Services department in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. The Mechanic is responsible for the repair, overhaul, maintenance and service of a wide variety of equipment.

Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, with all travel paid.
Responsibilities:

• Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel powered vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment, graders, dump trucks, and excavators
• Fabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment and machinery
• Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
• May be called upon to operate other equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required
• A valid class 3 drivers license is required
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good verbal and written communications skills
• Able to manage time and make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Able to weld, gas and AC/DC is a strong asset
• Experience working in a remote environment is considered an asset
• Strong commitment to follow workplace safety requirements and procedures
• Able to perform a physically strenuous and demanding job i.e. lifting, pulling, etc.
• Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditions

Compensation:

• Wage starts at $50/hour + opportunity for overtime
• 6% Vacation Pay
