CONSTRUCTION
FOREMAN – JETTING CREW

RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated individuals
interested in helping lead our crews on our Construction and Maintenance
Team. Our Construction Foreman – Jetting Crew will
demonstrate hands-on leadership for our Jetting Crews on individual worksites
across the region by role-modelling safe and efficient work processes,
assigning tasks, providing training, and problem-solving.  They will provide day-to-day coaching and guidance
to our operators and labourers who are integral in the efficient preparation, construction,
and installation of our fibreoptic infrastructure.

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible
    for supervising Jetting Crew and ensuring crew responsibilities are being
    completed.
  • Ensure
    fibre optic cable is being jetted into rural and town builds.
  • Read
    job plans and locates.
  • Problem-solving
    and coordinating daily activities on construction sites to ensure quality and
    efficient operations
  • Planning
    to ensure required materials are on site, and there are sufficient manpower
    requirements to handle mechanical issues, or work scope changes.
  • Communicate
    with the Superintendent about work activities,  workflow, or any issues discovered through
    daily job planning.
  • Complete
    and submit daily production reports: including but not limited to, as-built and
    quality control documents, ground disturbance checklists, truck and equipment
    pre-trips.
  • Mentor
    new and existing workers on construction best practices and promote a culture
    of safety.
  • Facilitate
    communication with crew members through Toolbox meetings, Safety Memos, and
    mentorship.
  • Ensure
    RFNOW and MB/SK OH&S standards, policies and procedures are understood and
    followed by all employees.
  • Ensure
    all incidents are reported (near misses, property damage, injuries,
    environmental, etc.) before the end of the shift.
  • Successfully
    Interact with consumers and the public on a daily basis. 
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous
    field construction experience is required.
  • Knowledge
    of jetting equipment, compressors, and mini-hoe
  • Experience
    reading job plans and utility locates to ensure approvals for builds
  • Supervisory
    experience and knowledge of the telecom industry are both assets.
  • Excellent
    verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience
    with heavy equipment for underground construction (backhoe, cats, drilling, hydro
    vac) would be considered an asset but willing to train suitable applicants
  • Requirements:

  • Ability
    to lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Ability
    to spend the majority of the day standing and/or walking.
  • Willingness
    and ability to travel Monday to Friday, throughout MB and SK
  • Willingness
    to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability
    to lead and maintain a respectful working environment for your team.
  • Must
    have a minimum valid Class 3 license. – Class 1 is preferred.
  • Working
    out of town and in remote locations on a regular basis
  • Job Details:

  • Full-time,
    Monday to Friday
  • $32.50
    - $40.00/hr depending on experience
