Job Summary:
Our Houston, Texas logistics hub is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage the incoming flow of goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming shipments, ensuring that every item is accounted for, inspected, and properly processed into our inventory system. Accuracy and organization are key in this role, as you will be responsible for verifying quantities, checking for damages, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams. This position is critical for maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the efficiency of our entire warehouse operation. A dedication to safety and precise record-keeping is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and stage incoming shipments efficiently and safely.
  • Verify quantities and descriptions of goods received against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect shipments for any damage, discrepancies, or quality issues and report findings immediately.
  • Accurately document all received goods in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Tag and label received items appropriately for tracking and storage.
  • Coordinate with shipping and inventory teams to ensure timely put-away of received goods.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and carriers regarding delivery status and issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Wear and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic data entry; experience with WMS software is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in counting and documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
