Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our busy Houston, Texas warehouse! As a Material Handler, you will be the backbone of our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth movement and organization of materials throughout the facility. Your primary focus will be on operating powered industrial trucks (like forklifts) and other equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy, facilitating efficient order picking and packing, and ensuring the overall flow of goods within the warehouse. A strong commitment to safety and efficiency is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
  • Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
  • Accurately track and record material movements using scanning devices or inventory logs.
  • Perform routine checks on material handling equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.
  • Assist with inventory management, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Support other warehouse operations as needed, including picking, packing, and shipping.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid forklift certification or demonstrated experience operating forklifts is essential.
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control principles.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
