Are you a certified Forklift Operator seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity? Our Houston, Texas, distribution center is looking for experienced individuals to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring smooth operations and timely order fulfillment. This role requires precision, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts with skill. Your contribution is vital to our logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Load and unload trailers and containers efficiently and safely.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations regarding material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA certified).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for forklift operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to use required PPE.
