About
We are looking for skilled and certified Forklift Operators to join our busy warehouse facility in Detroit, Michigan. This position is critical for the efficient and safe operation of our logistics center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, stack, and transport materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse. Maintaining a safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies, and correctly using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are essential requirements for this role. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and committed to operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack merchandise.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Accurately pick and stage orders according to shipping schedules.
- Assist in receiving and put-away of inventory, ensuring proper placement and documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Follow all logistics and operational directives to ensure smooth workflow.
- Engage in occasional lifting and movement of items up to 50 lbs when not operating a forklift.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid forklift operator certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- In-depth knowledge of forklift safety procedures and regulations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
