About
Our rapidly expanding logistics operation in Indianapolis, Indiana, is looking for a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our dedicated warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials to and from storage areas, and assist with inventory management. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to Safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Move palletized inventory to and from storage racks and designated areas.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or damages to maintenance immediately.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts, maintaining accurate records.
- Adhere strictly to all warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety vests, and steel-toed boots.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse associates to ensure smooth workflow.
- Support overall logistics operations and contribute to meeting production goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating forklifts.
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is essential.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment and warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of Safety protocols and accident prevention.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions precisely.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
- Demonstrated commitment to a culture of Safety.
- Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems is a plus.
