Join our team as a Receiving Clerk in the bustling distribution center located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is the first point of contact for incoming goods and requires meticulous attention to detail. You will be responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all incoming inventory, ensuring it matches purchase orders and quality standards. Your work directly impacts inventory accuracy and the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record all received items into the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or short shipments.
- Properly label and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with shipping and inventory teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
