Join our growing logistics team as a Forklift Operator at our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary objective is to ensure the smooth flow of goods in and out of our distribution center, supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be expected to perform pre-operation checks on equipment, maintain accurate inventory records, and adhere strictly to all safety regulations. This position requires a skilled and safety-conscious individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your contribution is vital to our operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers with efficiency and care.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and arrange merchandise securely and accurately.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Observe all traffic rules and safety precautions within the warehouse.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Demonstrated experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and forklift best practices.
- Ability to read and understand safety labels and equipment operating manuals.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Must be physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
