Were building an industry?leading, ultra?low?latency indexing platform that ingests and indexes data across major blockchains. It powers teams across Coinbase and external developers via the Coinbase Developer Platform. Were building the real?time backbone that powers diverse use cases. Youll work across a modern streaming stack (gRPC, Kafka, and more) to design, build, and operate low?latency services at scale. As a small, high?impact team partnering broadly, we take a platform?first approachdelivering platform primitives, SDKs, and tooling that accelerate developer velocity and reduce time?to?market. What youll be doing: Design, build, and operate low?latency indexing/streaming services on gRPC, Kafka, and our real?time stack Own APIs, schemas, SLOs, observability, and on?call for the systems you run Lead multi?month initiatives (new chains, re?architecture, migrations/backfills) to improve latency, reliability, and cost Partner across teams to define data contracts and ship SDKs/platform primitives that drive adoption
What we look for in you:
5+ years of experience in software engineering Very strong in distributed systems or data systems. If you are experienced with Crypto, its a big plus! Youve experienced architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact Youre passionate about building an indexing platform that brings the Web3 and Web2 world together
Nice to haves:
Experience designing and developing distributed systems You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers) You have experience with Blockchains (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum etc.) You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices Youve worked with Golang, Kafka, Redis, S3, Clickhouse, MongoDB Youve built financial, high reliability or security systems Crypto?forward experience, including familiarity with on?chain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain?based services.
