This role is part of Blue Origins corporate functions and provides centralized support across business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead effort in ingesting, curating, and creating enriched data store infrastructure that supports our People Analytics function within the Human Resources group. The ideal candidate will build APIs, data pipelines, and data models that enable analytics for internal and external HR business functions, and will bring expertise in API development, DevOps, and data governance. Experience with AI agent development will be a significant advantage. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI. Implement and lead data ingestion pipelines, improving and maintaining DevOps processes. Develop comprehensive unit tests and follow best practices to ensure code quality and reliability. Implement defined data governance and access criteria. Collaborate with cross?functional teams to integrate user?facing elements and deliver production data for analytics. Design and implement sophisticated data models and solutions. Participate in architectural discussions and provide innovative ideas to improve system design and performance. Provide guidance to partner data analytics team members, promoting continuous learning and best?in?class data model utilization. Conduct code reviews to maintain quality standards. Document development processes, technical specifications, and system designs in detail.
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience focused on relational data infrastructure architecture and builds. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in API development using FastAPI, GraphQL, or similar frameworks. Strong experience with DevOps practices and containerization. Familiarity with AI agent development and integration is a bonus. Excellent communication and partnership capabilities, with a proactive approach to work. Strong attention to detail and focus on achieving desired outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in working with large datasets and data processing technologies. Familiarity with analytics/data science use cases and how best to support through data infrastructure. Prior experience in a senior or lead developer role.

Compensation Range
For WA applicants, compensation is $164,415.00 $230,179.95. Other site ranges may differ. Culture Statement
