Job Type: Full?time Location: Houston, TX (100% onsite). Visa sponsorship or C2C not accepted. About the Role: Our client is looking for a candidate who can take ownership of a Data Engineering platform built for GIS/Mapping customers. The platform is built with FastAPI, heavily uses Pydantic, and accesses data from PostgreSQL and ElasticSearch. The data engineer should be very familiar with async programming, create functional tests to ensure the applications continue to operate as expected, and may re?engineer inner workings while keeping the contract intact. The platform serves 1,000 users a month across multiple product lines. On the security front it manages user?to?group membership, access control based on resources and privileges. On the GIS front it stores and serves configuration used for user maps. On the search front it ties user security to queries against geospatial datasets presented in the map.
