Our logistics company in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our facility, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. Your role is critical to the smooth operation of our warehouse and the timely processing of goods. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; you will be expected to adhere to all company safety guidelines, operate equipment responsibly, and consistently use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position offers a stable and rewarding career in the fast-paced world of logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with incoming and outgoing goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organization.
- Inspect forklift equipment before and after use, reporting any issues.
- Follow all traffic and safety regulations within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure the correct use of all mandated PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Support overall logistics operations by performing other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Commitment to adhering to safe lifting techniques.
- Willingness to consistently wear and use required PPE.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic in a logistics environment.
