Job Summary:
Our Detroit, Michigan location is seeking a dedicated Receiving Clerk to manage the critical process of incoming goods. This role is foundational to our warehouse operations, ensuring that all products entering our facility are accurately accounted for, inspected, and processed efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for many deliveries, verifying quantities, checking for damage, and accurately logging items into our inventory system. A meticulous approach and a strong understanding of logistics procedures are key to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Accept and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
  • Verify the contents of shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Inspect goods for any damage, defects, or discrepancies.
  • Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Tag and label received inventory for proper storage.
  • Communicate any receiving discrepancies or issues to management promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Support the logistics team by ensuring timely processing of all inbound goods.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory control is highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical exertion, including moderate Lifting (up to 45 lbs).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills and data entry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
