This is a key role within our logistics department, responsible for the efficient handling, movement, and storage of materials. As a Material Handler, you will utilize a variety of equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors, to ensure products are processed accurately and timely. You will be involved in receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping operations. A strong commitment to safety is essential, requiring all employees to strictly follow safety guidelines and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE). This role requires physical exertion, including consistent lifting and maneuvering of heavy items. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished goods from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from production, shipping, and receiving areas.
- Stack and store materials properly, following FIFO or LIFO as directed.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Assist with inventory counts and ensure accuracy of stock levels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse procedures.
- Troubleshoot and report any operational issues.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, often exceeding 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and correct use of PPE.
- Physical stamina to perform the demanding duties of the role.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Experience with RF scanning systems is a plus.
