Job Summary:
Join our expanding logistics team as a Material Handler in Grand Rapids, Michigan! This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, focusing on the safe and efficient movement of goods. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials throughout the facility. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to safety, excellent work ethic, and the ability to perform physical tasks consistently. A thorough understanding of warehouse safety, including the correct use of PPE, is essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Identify, count, and inspect incoming materials, comparing them to packing slips.
  • Transport materials to designated storage locations within the warehouse.
  • Pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively, performing routine checks.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counting.
  • Follow all company policies and safety regulations, especially concerning lifting and handling heavy items.
  • Ensure proper PPE is utilized at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient logistics operations.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is preferred.
  • Ability to perform significant lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safe material handling techniques and warehouse safety standards.
  • Familiarity with basic logistics and inventory procedures.
  • Ability to operate various types of warehouse equipment.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
