Our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Durham, North Carolina, is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator. This vital role ensures the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload goods, manage inventory placement, and contribute to overall warehouse productivity. The ideal candidate possesses excellent operating skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, etc.) to move, lift, and stack products and materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers accurately and safely.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts before and after shifts, reporting any issues.
- Organize and store inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, free from hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Follow all logistics and material handling best practices.
- Report any operational or safety concerns to management promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet daily targets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Knowledge of safe forklift operation and material handling techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
