We are seeking an organized and efficient Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is essential for managing inbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining inventory integrity. You will be responsible for unloading deliveries, verifying contents against documentation, and processing receipts into our system. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety are crucial for success in this fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers, verifying quantities and item numbers.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, documenting any issues encountered.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Compare received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Tag and label inventory items appropriately for storage or distribution.
- Prepare received goods for put-away by staging them in designated areas.
- Follow all established safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation efforts.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and order forms.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 35 pounds.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
