Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our logistics operations in Portland, Oregon. This position is critical for managing the flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and stored efficiently and safely. You will be involved in various tasks, including receiving, stocking, and preparing materials for distribution. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to safety are essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
  • Transport materials throughout the warehouse using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Organize and stock materials in designated inventory locations, ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
  • Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and work areas, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform consistent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Participate in inventory management, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain workflow and meet operational goals.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification required for forklift operation).
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including significant lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all regulations.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
