About
Join our team as a Material Handler in Atlanta, Georgia, and play a key role in the smooth operation of our distribution center. This position is responsible for moving materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring that products are readily available for order fulfillment and shipment. You will be operating various types of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks. A strong emphasis is placed on Safety, and all material handlers are expected to follow strict guidelines and use appropriate PPE at all times. The ideal candidate will have experience with different types of warehouse machinery and a proven track record of safe operation. This is a physically demanding role that requires consistent Lifting and the ability to stand for extended periods. Excellent spatial awareness and coordination are essential for navigating the warehouse effectively. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to and from designated areas.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Stack and arrange materials in an organized and efficient manner.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking.
- Ensure all materials are properly secured during transport.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Support the logistics team in daily operations.
- Practice safe Lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy Lifting, up to 60 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions if applicable.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Excellent communication skills.
