We are hiring a Picker/Packer for our facility in Washington, D.C.! In this role, you will be instrumental in fulfilling customer orders with speed and accuracy. Your responsibilities will include accurately picking items from warehouse shelves and preparing them for shipment. This involves using handheld scanners, verifying product codes, and ensuring order completeness. Once picked, you will carefully pack items, selecting appropriate packaging materials to protect products during transit. This is a fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to quality. You'll be working within our logistics framework, contributing directly to customer satisfaction. We emphasize a safe working environment, and all associates must adhere to safety guidelines and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items for customer orders using RF scanners or pick sheets.
- Verify product information and quantities during the picking process.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Ensure all items for an order are accounted for before packing.
- Apply shipping labels accurately to packages.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Assist with inventory checks and reporting discrepancies.
- Meet daily picking and packing targets.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capacity for lifting up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
