Are you a motivated individual with experience in material handling? Our Des Moines, Iowa facility is looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage the movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is vital for ensuring that materials are efficiently transferred between different areas, supporting production and fulfillment operations. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, staging materials for production, and moving inventory to its correct storage locations. A strong understanding of warehouse safety practices is required, and you will be expected to wear appropriate PPE to ensure your well-being. This is a physically demanding role that involves significant Lifting and requires a keen eye for detail to prevent damage to goods. You will be an integral part of our logistics operations, contributing to the smooth flow of products. We foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement, and your input is valued. Daily tasks include:
- Operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Moving materials from receiving to storage or production areas.
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks and trailers.
- Assisting with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Ensuring materials are properly secured and labeled.
- Performing routine checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
