We are looking for a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our state-of-the-art facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our warehouse equipment and infrastructure, directly supporting our extensive logistics operations. As a Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery, conveyor systems, and other warehouse equipment. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a dedication to safety and preventative maintenance. Your expertise will help minimize downtime and maximize productivity. The job involves working with various tools and equipment, and a thorough understanding of safety procedures is essential. You will be expected to conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on warehouse machinery, conveyor belts, and automated systems.
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Install and set up new equipment as needed.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely.
- Assist in organizing and managing spare parts inventory.
- Respond to emergency repair requests promptly.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse operations and safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Must be willing to wear required PPE and follow strict safety protocols.
