About
Our Kansas City, Missouri facility is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our dedicated team. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from the moment goods arrive. Your primary responsibility will be to unload delivery trucks, verify the contents against purchase orders, and document any discrepancies. You will also be responsible for inspecting received items for damage or defects, assigning lot numbers, and preparing items for put-away or immediate processing. This role is vital to maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the seamless flow of our Logistics chain. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Document all discrepancies, damages, or shortages accurately.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain organized receiving areas and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system promptly.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Assist in managing returns and processing related paperwork.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of Logistics operations.
Prior experience in a warehouse receiving role is highly desirable. Must be able to perform demanding physical tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift. Proficiency in basic computer skills for data entry. A strong commitment to workplace Safety and the correct use of PPE .
