About
We are hiring a Shipping Clerk to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is vital to our shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be a key part of our logistics process, coordinating with carriers and preparing documentation. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and all employees are required to use appropriate PPE and follow established safety procedures. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify outbound shipments against orders for accuracy.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and prepared for transport.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Properly use all required PPE .
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and WMS.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform tasks that involve standing, walking, and occasional lifting .
- Willingness to wear and adhere to all safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
