About
We have an exciting opening for a Material Handler in Portland, Oregon. This role is integral to our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of materials throughout our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of equipment and maintaining an organized inventory system. A strong focus on safety is expected, with adherence to all protocols and the mandatory use of PPE . This is a physically demanding position requiring precision and reliability in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use all required PPE , including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Inspect equipment regularly for proper functioning and report any issues.
- Ability to perform significant lifting , up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis.
- Support shipping and receiving departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role operating heavy equipment.
- Valid forklift certification is a strong advantage.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive lifting , bending, and standing for long periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Must be committed to wearing all required PPE .
- Familiarity with inventory control systems is a plus.
