About
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy distribution center in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in the efficient movement of goods within our facility, ensuring our Logistics operations run seamlessly. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials to and from storage areas, and assist with order fulfillment. A strong focus on Safety is paramount, as you'll be operating heavy machinery in a dynamic environment. This role involves regular Lifting and requires precise control of the forklift. We provide comprehensive training and all necessary PPE , which must be worn at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload goods from trailers, containers, and delivery trucks.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and other items within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and order picking processes.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including traffic regulations within the warehouse.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE , including safety shoes, vests, and hard hats as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and organization of our Logistics operations.
- Participate in general warehouse duties, including housekeeping and organization.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
