In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials and products within our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with accuracy and care.
- Stack and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper organization and stability.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any mechanical issues or damage immediately.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock placement.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse safety and efficiency.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Thorough knowledge of forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards.
