About
We are seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our Huntsville, Alabama location. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, involving the precise reception, inspection, and processing of all incoming shipments. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for verifying deliveries against documentation, identifying any damages or discrepancies, and accurately updating inventory records. A commitment to accuracy, organizational skills, and a proactive approach are key to success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Accept, unload, and verify incoming goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all received items for damage, defects, or shortages.
- Record received inventory accurately in the company's inventory management system.
- Label and stage received products for appropriate storage or distribution.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding delivery issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the correct utilization of PPE, to ensure a secure working environment.
- Assist in other warehouse functions as needed to support overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 35 pounds). Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and standing for extended periods. Basic computer skills, including data entry, are necessary. A strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures is required. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliability and punctuality are essential.
