Join our growing logistics team as a Receiving Clerk in our busy Chicago, Illinois facility. This position plays a vital role in the initial stage of our supply chain, ensuring all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for verifying shipments against purchase orders, documenting discrepancies, and coordinating with suppliers and internal departments. A keen eye for detail and proficiency in data entry are critical. We are looking for an organized and proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic warehouse setting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage incoming merchandise for put-away or further processing.
- Communicate with vendors and shipping departments regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the use of appropriate PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, contributing to overall logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a receiving or inventory role is highly desirable. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and familiarity with inventory software. Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 30 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to workplace safety is paramount. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential for coordinating with various stakeholders. This role requires reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
