About
We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is vital for managing the flow of goods into our warehouse. You will be responsible for all aspects of receiving, from unloading trucks to meticulously checking deliveries against orders. Accuracy in documenting received items and identifying any damages or discrepancies is key. This position involves working with various types of incoming freight and requires the ability to handle physical tasks, including regular Lifting of items up to 40 lbs. A strong understanding of inventory management principles is beneficial. Maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area is a core part of this job, and adherence to all Safety regulations and the mandatory use of PPE is expected. This role is a critical component of our Logistics network, ensuring that our inventory is accurately recorded and ready for distribution. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify quantities and item numbers against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for any damage or defects upon arrival.
- Record all received items accurately in the inventory system.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to management promptly.
- Organize and stock received goods in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
- Utilize appropriate equipment for material handling, ensuring compliance with Safety standards.
- Wear assigned PPE at all times while on the dock or in the warehouse.
- Support the broader Logistics team by ensuring timely and accurate receiving of all stock.
- Regularly engage in Lifting and movement of goods.
