Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, directly impacting our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock levels, and optimizing warehouse layouts for efficient product flow. Your expertise will be instrumental in minimizing shrinkage, reducing carrying costs, and ensuring that product availability meets demand. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory best practices is essential. We are committed to a safe work environment, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. While this role is primarily analytical, it may involve occasional moderate Lifting to access inventory or perform audits. You will collaborate with various teams, including warehouse operations and logistics, to achieve inventory accuracy goals. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Monitor stock levels and generate reports on inventory status.
  • Optimize warehouse organization and layout for efficient product handling.
  • Manage the receipt and put-away of incoming inventory accurately.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to reconcile inventory.
  • Promote and enforce all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs) and work in a warehouse environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
