Job Summary:
Join our bustling logistics hub in Chicago, Illinois, as a Receiving Clerk! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to manage the intake of goods into our warehouse. This critical role ensures that all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and processed efficiently. Your responsibility will be to maintain the integrity of our supply chain from the moment goods arrive. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and understands the importance of accuracy in a fast-paced logistics environment. You will work closely with vendors, drivers, and internal teams to ensure smooth receiving operations. We are committed to a safe working environment for all our employees, and strict adherence to safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE, is expected. Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
  • Verify shipping documents against received goods.
  • Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Stage received items for put-away or other warehouse processes.
  • Ensure a clean and organized receiving area.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and warehouse staff.
  • Assist with inventory counts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support logistics operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
  • Understanding of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to safety and the correct use of PPE.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
