Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency within our logistics operations. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth flow of goods and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations. If you have a sharp analytical mind and a passion for precision, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor inventory for damages, obsolescence, and expiration dates.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and turnover.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space and prevent loss.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
