About
We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to join our busy warehouse operations in Detroit, Michigan. The Material Handler plays a critical role in the movement of goods within the warehouse, ensuring materials are transported, stored, and staged efficiently and safely. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of inventory and supporting production and shipping activities. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall success of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks for shipping and receiving.
- Maintain an organized and clutter-free work environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to safe lifting techniques.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operation certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs) regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
