Job Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. The Receiving Clerk plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately documented, inspected, and processed promptly. This position is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall efficiency of our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for verifying the contents of incoming deliveries against purchase orders, identifying any discrepancies or damages, and preparing goods for storage. A strong commitment to safety, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments.
  • Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages accurately.
  • Input receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Tag and label incoming goods for proper identification and tracking.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
  • Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Operate basic warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, especially concerning safety and the use of PPE.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in receiving or a similar warehouse role is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring some physical exertion, including Lifting of moderately heavy items.
  • Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  • Understanding of basic logistics and inventory control principles.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
