Our rapidly growing logistics operation in Indianapolis, Indiana is looking for a reliable and energetic Material Handler to join our warehouse team. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in the movement of goods throughout our facility, ensuring efficient operations and timely order fulfillment. This position involves operating various material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and move materials and products within the warehouse using appropriate equipment.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas, such as storage, production, or shipping.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Sort, organize, and store inventory in designated locations, ensuring proper labeling.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all Safety standards.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to all company policies, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with discrepancy investigations.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics process through effective material handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks is a strong asset.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Strong commitment to Safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles is beneficial.
